Position: Senior FPGA Development Engineer
Location: Melbourne, FL, 32902
Term: 6 Months Contract
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Will support the development of FPGA requirements, RTL code, test benches and test procedures.
  • Help plan projects and lead development activities to accomplish the project goals and support development of bids and schedules. May encompass both new design and product sustaining support roles.
  • Capture and document the flowed down functional requirements, and develop and document the derived requirements for FPGAs.
  • Design FPGA architectural diagrams, develop VHDL to implement the design critical functionality.
  • Follow DO-254 program planning documentation, and ensure CPLD/FPGA design adheres to the plans.
  • Develop UVM modules using VHDL or System Verilog for functional simulation.
  • Perform engineering timing simulations and functional analysis.
  • Support project planning efforts and ensure execution to schedule and budget.
  • Creation and review of engineering documentation.
  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems and networks to ensure that business objectives and required specifications are met.
  • Requirements definition, detailed design, validation of requirements and verification of implementation.
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree in Science, Technology, or Math (STEM) discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Development Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in RTL coding (VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog).
  • Experience with Xilinx/Actel FPGAs and development tools.
  • Demonstrated skills in FPGA lab integration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience capturing detailed FPGA requirements datasets from allocated system level requirements, including decomposition and derivation.
  • Experience with UVM methodology in developing simulation testbench.
  • Hardware Verification experience including, test bench/procedure development, robustness testing & debug.
  • Experience with hardware/firmware configuration management and problem reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Implementing FGPA requirements into a FPGA Architecture diagrams and a detailed design in VHDL.
  • Writing requirements-based test benches to verify detail design.
Desired Skills:
  • Proficiency with managing requirements in JAMA.
  • Experience working with Air Transport OEM’s on developmental projects.
  • Knowledge of Transponder Specific TSO Requirements.
  • Familiarity with the signal processing system simulation & analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
  • Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g., JIRA, GIT, Subversion).
