Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity in Richardson, TX! Requires experience in the design and development of electromechanical systems and device integration as deployed in electronic toll collection roadway systems. The Sr. Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the in-lane toll collection solution on assigned projects.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Interface with all levels of internal and external customers and must be self-motivated and a strong individual contributor
•    Analyze functional and performance requirements
•    Design and specify compliant solutions
•    Define equipment requirements and produce bills-of-materials
•    Review and critique engineering project design and development
•    Interface with and support customer, project management team, software developers, engineering staff, field installation staff, installation subcontractors and maintenance staff
•    Mentor, advise and assist in the training of junior engineers

Work Environment (outside, indoors, noise level, lighting or other work conditions)
•    Work will be primarily performed indoors in varied settings like workstations, server rooms and conference rooms.
•    24/7 on-call experience

Physical Demands (like bending, sitting, kneeling, lifting, driving etc.)
•    The ability to sit or stand for periods up to 4 hours.
•    Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds
•    Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Required Education and Experience
•    BS Engineering, BS Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
•    Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in the design and development of electronic toll collection or comparable systems
•    Experience managing contractors and Engineers through the design, development, and implementation of a complex system
•    Candidate must have extensive experience producing documentation including responses to specifications (proposal text), detailed design documents, component assembly drawings, electrical and mechanical installation drawings, test procedures and test reports
•    Familiarity with Linux a plus
