Position: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location:  Issaquah, Washington, 98029
Term: 11 months
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Support of Legacy systems including End of Life/LTB, second sourcing, manufacturing and field failures, etc.
  • Work with Service and Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they occur in the field, and on the Manufacturing line.
  • Manage external supplier relationships and technical issues related to vendor supplied HW assemblies. This primarily means building, and maintaining, technical relationships with vendors/suppliers and representing Siemens as a technical lead on external projects.
  • Develop test specifications and act as the technical lead regarding Testing electronic subassemblies as they are applied as part of a larger system.
  • Develop, and release, design documentation such as, board level schematics, circuit designs, purchasing requirement specifications, etc., used for product sustaining and improvements
    Support PCB layout activities.
  • Create and execute HW verification plans for both component and system designs.
  • Participate in design integration activities with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Drive Certifications and regulatory deliverables associated with System HW changes.
  • Work closely with SW development teams to support integration of HW solutions.
  • Hold detailed design reviews related to HW design modifications.
 
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • BSEE with 5+ years of experience with system wide HW responsibilities, or some equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Excellent verbal and written, including Microsoft Word, communication skills.
  • Experience designing analog and digital circuits.
  • Design Documentation and Process milestone management.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture tools. (Mentor DxDesigner or similar)
  • Use test equipment in a lab environment to debug/test/verify board and System designs.
  • Development experience with embedded designs and related Communications protocols, (SPI, I2C, USB 3.0, etc.)
  • Experience with Failure analysis and Root Cause investigations of returned service replacement components.
  • Demonstrated capabilities related to Project and Defect management systems. (JIRA, TFS, MS Project, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable of Regulatory and Certifications for HW components (RoHS, FCC, EMI/EMC, etc.)
  • Proficient with the Windows OS.
 
Even better if you have:
  • A working knowledge of, and experience with medical device standards and requirements.
  • Experience designing electronic circuits for medical devices.
  • CAPA/Risk Management / Quality management experience.
