Position: Senior Data Management Analyst
Location: CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, 28277
Term: 12 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead programs, initiatives for data quality, governance, and metadata activities.
  • Design and conduct complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality or integrity issues and to identify and remediate process or control gaps.
  • Analyze, assess, and test data controls and data systems to ensure quality and risk compliance standards are met.
  • Identify data quality metrics and executes data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality.
  • Adhere to data governance standards and procedures.
  • Develop recommendations for optimal approaches to resolve data quality issues.
  • Develop and implement plans for assessing the quality of new data sources.
  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members.
  • Drive planning and coordination on low to medium sized remediation efforts, acting as central point of contact.
  • Leverage domain expertise and data, business, or process analysis to inform and support solution design.
  • Consult with clients to assess the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility.
  • Participate in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies.
  • Provide input into communication routines with stakeholders, business partners, and experienced leaders.


Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • Consumer Lending experience (mortgage lending experience is a bonus).
  • Ability to examine loan and/or legal documentation for data. The need is to examine historic mortgage documents.
  • Skills in documenting validation to confirm the data we are reporting is accurate.
  • This person does not need perfect mortgage underwriting experience but the need is to examine consumer and sometimes commercial documents during root cause analysis. Utilizing source materials against data.
  • Business Process Mapping, able and capable to be thrown in to new processes, map it and master it for error analysis and more.
  • Systems technology exposure, documenting
  • Key for this position will be Knowledge and understating of compiling and preparing executive summaries, whitepaper, and presentations for management/senior leaders.
  • Capability to examine loan/legal docs to identify gaps.
  • Complete root cause analysis of gaps.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex customer issues.
  • Ability to write concisely and clearly.
  • Knowledge and understanding of compiling and preparing executive summaries, whitepaper, and -presentations for management/senior leaders.
  • 4+ years of consumer lending experience.
  • 4+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.


Must have a strong detective mindset with experience within the following areas:

  • Business systems analysis or design experience
  • Business Process experience
  • Risk identification and documentation
  • Performance of risk assessments
  • Process definition and documentation
  • Must have Financial Services experience
  • Regulatory Reporting Ideal
  • Consumer lending specifically Mortgage, Auto and Cards
    • Financial Services experience having business knowledge of products and lines of business. We would not be looking to train up on the basics of financial services.
    • Should have a bit of exposure to data tools, though we can provide guidance/training on how to develop and write queries desired.
    • They may be task with some project management tasks such as project plans and develop the remediation


Technology tools used:

  • Basic MS tools will be where the majority of time will be spent
  • Word and PPT for presentations and documentation.
  • Excel for basic analytics
  • MS Project may be used for some positions but will not be a requirement.
  • Data Exploration typically using SAS and SQL would be very nice to have and not a required tool.
