Terrific 6+ months contract opportunity in Seattle, Washington for a Senior Category Manager. Will partner with the Customer Sales & Category Management organization, Sales Strategy, Demand Accelerator and Consumer/Shopper Insights functions to drive category leadership and customer collaboration. Will require 10%-20% of travel.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of a series of actionable Regional Category Stories that fuels our key Category Growth objectives and Strategic Customer Initiatives for the company as a whole.
  • Analyze and interpret category historical trends as well as building out future views and perspectives on future implications of the category and retail.
  • Leverage strong analytics and strategic thought leadership to drive best-in-class assortment/shelving and price/promotion recommendations that guide our regional and national sales efforts.
  • Own account based retail space planning, space analytics and planograming for the Salty Snack category across the region.
  • Lead and frame the strategic category insights and recommendations for annual planning to drive key growth initiatives and delivering upon ad hoc analysis that lead to actionable outputs.
  • Take point on the optimal wiring and ways of working across the Category Management organization, and cross-functionally with Sales Strategy, Consumer/Shopper Insights and the Demand Accelerator teams.
  • Manage and distribute business critical projects to supporting remote analyst, while also leading their professional development and expanding their business knowledge base.
  • Partnership with KAMs/Zones (region sales teams) to achieve share/sales targets.
 
Qualifications:
  • Previous IRI Systems and Data information.
  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA a plus.
  • Knowledge in space/assortment planning via plannograms.
  • Located within the FL defined Northwest Region.
  • People management experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry preferred.
  • 3+ years in Category Management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of syndicated data via IRI/Nielsen.
  • Strong knowledge in space planning tools, i.e. JDA/Apollo.
  • Understanding of consumer/shopper data via Panel, ShopperSights, Retailer Loyalty, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
