Long term contract in Plano, TX for a Senior Accountant.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for preparation of the analysis, compilation, and journal entries for CECL and IFRS 9 loan credit loss (“ACL”) and operating lease early termination loss related accounting processes.
  • Prepare accounting entries for ACL accounting monthly and quarterly close.
  • Review and reconcile data from source systems as well as data received from other departments.
  • Prepare executive materials for ECL Committee meetings with senior executive management.
  • Prepare SEC and international reporting disclosures for the ACL team.
  • Compile all documentation required for records for internal and external audit purposes for timely sign-off of the quarterly estimates with external auditors.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure all tasks are performed timely.
  • Maintain and update process documentation for ACL.
  • Maintain and update internal controls over ACL and operating lease early termination loss processes.
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests (ad hoc reports, assisting with documentation and testing of controls).
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of national public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, v-lookups, functions.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Prefer CPA/MBA.
  • Prefer PeopleSoft or SAP experience.
  • Prefer Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) experience.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • General accounting experience.
  • Financial services industry experience, but open to other industries as long as other requirements are met.
