Our Chicagoland client is searching for a Security Operations Network Engineer on a 6 month contract to hire basis.

A network operations engineer will work with design and engineering teams to have an all-round understanding of networks and systems. The professional should be able to resolve complex issues that involve analyzing packets and troubleshooting networks. They are the crucial point of contact between the network operations team and other internal departments. The engineer must work towards improving the quality of technical and telecommunication services.

The Network Operations Engineer will offer Level 2 and Level 3 Network Support that includes operation and change management. The Engineer fulfils the request for Network Devices such as Routers, Firewalls, WAN Optimization. The professional will examine, evaluate and monitor the incoming network change requests.

The Network Engineer is responsible for documenting LAN/WAN drawings, equipment lists accurately. They have to take care of the technical documentation of the network changes. The Network Operations Engineer conducts a periodic review of upgraded system firmware, application software, and iOS. The professional will manage and administer the production IP communications equipment.

Years of Experience:
This candidate needs a minimum of 3 years experience and ideally over 5 years.

The most necessary experience for the role is:

1. Palo Alto/Firewall

2. Zscaler (security internet gateway experience)

3. Cisco ICE
