Long term contract in Plano, TX for a Scrum Master. Will be responsible for aiding in communication in between global and international organization.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Product Owner to create user stories for inclusion into the product backlog.
  • Elicit the participation of developers in refinement.
  • Assist the Product Owner and Project Manager to prioritize the product backlog.
  • Facilitate story point estimation.
  • Work with Product Owner for prioritized Epic User Stories.
  • Assist the Project Manager throughout the user story lifecycle.
  • Resolve impediments within their reach, escalate and track other impediments.
  • Protect the team from external disruptions.
  • Coach the team to self-organize and promote continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, refinement, daily Scrum, sprint review and retrospective events.
  • Ensure Scrum events are effective and Agile/Scrum values and mindset are practiced.
  • Assist in the creation of internal ‘press releases’, communicating important information.
 
Qualifications:
  • PowerPoint is a must have.
  • ServiceNow is a huge plus but not necessary since the team is willing to train the resource with the same.
  • JIRA is a plus.
  • Google Suite/web services such as Google sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Japanese and English.
  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related technical field or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3+ years as Scrum Master in large enterprise environments overseeing small to large teams directly and in matrix managed environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and organizational skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships with technical and non-technical teams alike at all levels including senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide the efforts of small or large teams to successful project completion.
  • Able to lead multiple Scrum teams at once, as required, and prioritize appropriately.
  • Able to work with minimal direction is a must.
  • Skills with standard Agile and project management tools including Jira, Confluence, MS Project, MS Office, Visio etc., Agile Mindset is required.
  • Technical background with expertise in system development/implementation and maintenance/support is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) desired.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) desired.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Agile/SAFe and Jira desired.
  • Technical or Engineering background would be great but it is not necessary.
