Title:  Rates Distribution Business Analyst
Location:  Preferred is San Francisco Bay Area and will consider , Minneapolis MN and New York City
Type: Contract

Job Description:
Client is seeking a Business Analyst to assist in the delivery of product/capability enhancements and the migration to the new Rates Distribution product, which supports the ability for our customers to receive exchange rates that meet their transactional and accounting needs.  The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment contributing to multiple projects in cross-functional teams (including Product, Technology, Operations, Treasury, Finance and other key business partners).  Looking for evidence of self-direction, flexibility, outstanding documentation and communication skills, and ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities:

  • Update Training Documents and Business artifacts for Rates Distribution
  • Assist in Customer Migration from the current environment to the new application
  • Analyze legacy and desired processes to elicit requirements, and document them in user stories as assigned
  • Augment user stories with Use Cases, process flow diagrams, and other artifacts to clarify the desired state
  • Conduct walkthroughs and reviews of deliverables and facilitate approvals according to PMO governance
  • Partner with technology teams through user story development and Sprint schedule, and with testing teams through UAT to ensure end product meets requirements.
  • Review and stay abreast of related project scope, deliverables, and timelines and track dependencies (escalating as necessary)
  • Work with assigned Project Managers to manage dependencies and lead coordination efforts which do not fall under the PM’s scope (eg. coordinate user story development, steps toward intermediate milestones)
  • Conduct productive meetings with appropriate invitees, timely and relevant agendas, and thorough minutes
  • Obtain and organize relevant data for project and management reporting

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Business Process Analysis
  • Process oriented thinking and approach is important - ability to break down into step-by-step flow.
  • Ability to quickly put together meaningful presentation of process flow changes
  • User Story Development
  • Experience in writing User Stories
  • Use case development
  • Data analysis and presentation
  • Accounting - solid knowledge of accounting for banking products
  • Product-specific knowledge:
  • Prior experience with any Core banking system (i.e. Bank-in-a-box) is a plus
  • General project management skills:
  • Managing to deadlines
  • Understanding of the Agile framework for product delivery as well as Waterfall SDLC
  • Tracking follow-up items and hold owners accountable

Preferred Skills and Experience:  

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Business Analyst role
  • Experience developing business requirements/user stories in support of FX products and services (i.e. Liquidity Management, Accounting, Payments, FX, Risk)
  • Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate ideas to diverse business and technical audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Office software products including MS Power Point, Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint
