 Senior ERP Project Manager + Travel

Enterprise PMO seeking a seasoned ERP Project Manager for their growing project team in Atlanta.  We are seeking a self-directed team leader that manages the more complex projects within the PMO.  They will lead planning and/or implementation/integration of assigned enterprise projects through the full life cycle from project definition and approval through closing and all project deliverables in parallel.  This position requires approximately 50% travel throughout the US.

The Senior PM will be a detailed oriented, pragmatic, analytical, professional with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can drive, influence, and collaborate with a multitude of stakeholders, sponsors and technical teams to meet project goals. They are well-rounded and understand "messy Agile" in the journey from Waterfall to Agile teams.  Must have a successful track record managing multi-year, multi-phase enterprise software development and/or integration projects.

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines, resources, milestones, and deliverables using program/project management tools and best practices.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Assist the Product Owner with user story creation and backlog management.
  • Leading and coaching the organization and the scrum team in its Scrum adoption.
  • Support Product Owner/BA to arrange product backlog to maximize value
  • Capacity planning and tracking.
  • Responsible for organizing and facilitating scrum ceremonies.
  • Develop and manage full-scale project plans and associated communications documents for all assigned projects.
  • Set, communicate, and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders in a timely, clear, and concise manner.
  • Conduct project closing and create lessons learned documentation identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path issues/risks.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
  • Identify any issues/risks to program/project success and develop mitigation plans to manage them throughout the project life cycle.
  • Coordinate the efforts of all project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Coordinate with IT Product Management to ensure that all program/project deliverables align with and support the strategic business goals of the applicable products.
  • Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the program and any related projects

Ideal candidate has a mix of the following qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of IT program/project management experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Enterprise PM experience
  • ERP/SAP project management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Experience working in complex, distributed business preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • CSM – Certified Scrum Master preferred
  • Six Sigma, Lean or other TQM certification a plus
  • Experience building presentations with MS Office suite 
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills a must.
  • Strong leadership & team motivational skills
  • Ability & willingness to travel approximate 50% in the US
