Our client, a leading software company headquartered in Raleigh, NC is in search of a Product Owner to join their team.  If you have a passion for Product Ownership and understand the behaviors and needs assessments required to deliver industry leading products, this job is for you.

Details: 
Duration: 12-18 months contract to hire
Location: 100% remote, must live on the east coast.
Key Skills: 
User Interface Design, Understanding of the Application Development Lifecycle (they follow Kanban methodology), Code Release Management, How to prioritize feature releases, Consultation with business to develop needs and requirements for delivery.

Description:

Works to design, develop, and deliver learning experiences to help develop our clients employees’ skills and capabilities. You’ll also need to have a passion for combining these tools to create an optimum end-user experience, in partnership with other members of Learning and Internal Training teams.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Act as Product Owner and technical subject matter expert for the custom developed client learning platform
  • Lead Agile ceremonies for the project development team (Backlog refinement, grooming, prioritization, standups, and retrospectives)
  • Work with global learning and enablement teams to understand use cases, and translate these requirements into features and platform changes.
  • Provide consultation of site features, and coordinate the resolution of major system issues.
  • Establish a roadmap and plan for ongoing incremental improvements to the platform
  • Partner with the Experience & Insights team to measure audience engagement, feature use, and system trends
  • Update and maintain processes to improve content creation, curation and lifecycle
  • Accountable for the maintenance of administrator and customer facing support knowledge base articles

 

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience working with Learning Management Systems, preferably Moodle/Totara
  • Experience managing a globally distributed software team using Agile/SCRUM methodology.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, SCORM & AICC publish standards, Learning Record Stores “LRS”, HTML, CSS, and SaaS based integrations
  • Ability to align business needs to a technical strategy. Break down work into user stories, organize, and prioritize work independently
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and define solutions requirements from various business units with a consultative approach
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical requirements to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience managing SaaS based vendor relationships, and coordinating technical solutions with global teams
  • Solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and
  • interact, persuade, and /negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers
