Very large supply chain company is seeking to hire a Power BI Developer for a 6 months+ contract opportunity that may have the opportunity to extend as well as convert to a permanent employee in the future. This role is 100% remote  and the Power BI Developer can live and work anywhere in the U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Power BI Developer on this team, you will be focused on the following:

  • Building Power BI dashboards utilizing all features of Power BI (DAX, data modeling, row level security, app publishing, workspace maintenance, security administration).
  • Storytelling abilities to effectively convey a data story via visualizations.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills to ensure accurate calculations when building roll-up/drill-down dashboards.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work with other technical and non-technical teams.
  • No client-facing is needed in this role but will have some internal facing with the operations team, mostly interacting with the Analytics team.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Power BI developer with 3+ years of experience is required.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience. Needs the ability to data mine, develop efficient and effective queries, create views, understand functions, understand stored procedures, and resolve output discrepancies
  • Advanced understanding of data modeling concepts and the ability to develop efficient data models.
  • Advanced understanding of DAX equations. Knows when to use DAX or SQL to create efficient dataset refreshes while maintaining quick visual refreshes
  • Basic understanding of M query language to troubleshoot existing data models
  • Advanced UI knowledge. Needs the ability to build complex visuals in an intuitive way. Needs the ability to “Tell the Story” of performance allowing end users to determine the root cause of their performance through a series of intuitive visuals.
  • Needs an understanding of design rules and to provide a portfolio for review
