Our client is seeking a full time Portfolio Manager in Plano, TX.

Job Description:
The Portfolio Manager role is responsible for partnering with business and IT stakeholders to identify, evaluate, prioritize, plan, monitor, govern, and maximize portfolio investments consisting of programs, projects, product line initiatives, and other work. This role is accountable for executing the Portfolio Management governance and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute portfolio management practices aimed at identifying the right work and maintaining strategic alignment with value delivery
  • Host scoping sessions with business and IT stakeholders and produce level of effort estimates
  • Define business cases for portfolio evaluation, acceptance, and prioritization
  • Partner with portfolio owners, finance, and IT to define, track, and assess portfolio investment/delivery metrics to maintain strategic alignment and line of sight on strategic/operational benefits realization
  • Host portfolio planning sessions with portfolio owners, sponsors, and IT leadership to support optimal solution planning and delivery
  • Manage portfolio demand and capacity planning, forecasting, metrics, and reporting
  • Conduct project audits to ensure compliance with Portfolio Management governance
  • Gather inputs for IT key performance indicators and assess themes/trends in the IT value contributions to the business and opportunities for performance development
  • Conduct feedback loops at portfolio level, program level, and project level to support enterprise analysis, strategic planning, and continuous improvements
  • Partner with program managers, project managers, and product managers to produce portfolio reporting and presentations for various levels of management
  • Execute special portfolio assignments
  • Develop domain knowledge of assigned portfolios to support strategic planning and management
  • Mentor portfolio and program stakeholders on leveraging the Portfolio Management
  • Governance to maximize planning, solutions, and resource investments to deliver highest value
Skills:
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, partnership, and leadership to support enterprise planning and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers and subject matter experts
  • Ability to perform as a change agent to promote adherence to Portfolio Management Governance
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to business case definition and evaluation
  • Ability to conduct “what if” portfolio program scenario planning to maximize portfolio investments
  • Ability to understand company strategies, product strategies, and key portfolio/program metrics to maximize the value of investment themes
  • Ability to resolve conflict among participants
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture across the portfolio and program stakeholders to maximize portfolio planning and results
Education:
  • Bachelors or Master degree preferred (in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field) or equivalent experience
Experience Required:
  • Five years of combined project, program, and portfolio leadership experience
  • Demonstrated portfolio management experience with defining investment proposals, working investment proposals to approval status, maximizing portfolio delivery planning for highest value delivery, and monitoring investment delivery progress
Desirable Experience (not required):
High volume payment transaction processing cloud environments and product
