The Systems Operations Leader leads a team of System Engineers, Network Operations Analysts, and Server Operation Analysts that are responsible for monitoring and supporting our clients' key technology systems.  This position provides leadership and technical expertise, while working closely with other decision makers to help identify, recommend and implement strategic improvements.  The Systems Operations Leader will coordinate work, manage resources, prioritize work, and balance internal and external demand in a fast-paced environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages a 24x7x365 team in the successful fulfillment of IT operations and service delivery commitments
  • Initiate troubleshooting bridges, IT awareness communications, and engagement of support teams for all high priority or escalated incidents in accordance with established OLAs
  • Identifies risks and assists staff in developing mitigation strategies. Escalates critical issues and risks, as appropriate, with suggested courses of action
  • Actively participates in the incident and problem management processes
  • Collaborates and coordinates with multiple internal business groups to ensure the successful delivery of service levels
  • Analyzes production operations and initiates corrective actions to ensure operational stability
  • Identifies ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels
  • Performs recruiting, performance management, mentoring, and development for team members
  • Develops and implements operational best practices, policies and procedures
  • Works with senior stakeholders to promote the values, direction and culture of Discount Tire and to encourage top performance and high morale

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing/leading IT teams
  • Additional minimum of 5 years of experience of hands-on, progressive systems administration experience in areas related to datacenters, virtual environmental, large-scale IT projects, networking, systems automation, scripting related to administration, domain administration, virtual environments and other related IT systems administration activities
  • ITIL foundation certification or working experience with ITIL nomenclature/framework is preferred
  • IT Operations experience with tools or products such as or similar to AWS, VMWare, Microsoft, Linux, SQL Database, Networking, Datacenter, Security, Automation, Integration, Project Management, and some programming experience is preferred

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent is required
