Our client is searching for a strong Senior Technical Project Leader for their 3rd party mobile TransPac (by PDI) tool implementation project. This tool will be used in the field for delivery of propane, so any industry or related industry experience around distribution or logistics is a huge plus. This is a hands-on position where the Technical Project Manager will be involved in business requirements analysis, functional and technical designs and specifications, testing, working with key strategic partners, and more. We're looking for individuals with a proven track record of managing complex, internal customer facing projects under demanding timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering closely with the Operations team to ensure that:
    • The driver experience is optimal
    • The organization reaches optimized routing efficiencies
    • Systems enable overall delivery data management
  • Build and maintain delivery test bed which includes:  truck meter, communication hardware, tablet, TransPac software.  This test bed will be used to develop new features and functionalities as well as provide a training platform
  • Acting as the point of contact for day-to-day management of assigned IT projects.
  • Developing, managing, and maintaining the complete IT project plan to ensure delivery against project milestones by:
    • Defining and clarifying the project scope
    • Developing the project plan
    • Determining the organizational structure of the project team (agile/waterfall/hybrid)
    • Defining project tasks and resource requirements
    • Work with managers for resource allocation
    • Identifying services to be provided by external companies
    • Reporting project budget status
  • Collaborating with business analysts and business users to understand the business processes.
  • Partnering with Application Development teams, Product Management, Business, and Customer Support for agreement on project outcomes.
  • Evaluating project progress toward meeting its defined objectives.
  • Determining the cause of deviations from the plan and taking corrective actions to address deviations.
  • Adhere and utilize Project Management delivery governance structure and processes
  • In conjunction with delivery leadership, plan the overall solution operational readiness and release/delivery approach based on the program business and technical objectives
  • Integrate deployment activities from each project work plan team to clearly capture key deployment milestones and dependencies
  • Provide day-to-day activities related to all deployment or operational readiness activities, such as change enablement, operational readiness, service introduction, deployment, solution adoption and post deployment support
  • Manage relationships with all relevant vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Mitigate deployment risks and support issue escalation and resolution
  • Monitor suppliers and subcontractors' progress and adherence to the delivery expectations
  • Build and maintain relationships with IT teams within other programs, identify dependencies between different large programs, and manage cross-program resource allocations
  • Assess program deployment risks, issues, and impact on overall solution delivery commitments, objectives, etc.
  • Assess options to address risks or issues and improve the program delivery performance
  • Lead the creation of multiple release schedules and release management plans based upon planned release cycles

  • Strong technical proficiency, especially relating to mobile applications, web applications and development, systems integration, and product release and support requirements,
  • Must be able to grasp issues quickly and while factoring in technical dependencies and system limitations, make educated decisions in the absence of complete information,
  • The ability to frame technical solutions/options and negotiate business acceptance,
  • Excellent organizational, tracking skills, and attention to detail,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - both business facing and Engineering.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year experience in project management with mobile applications
  • Minimum 8-year experience in project management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Project Management Professional certification highly desirable
  • iOS and Android build and submission platform experience
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Results oriented with focus on achieving overall business objectives
  • Deep understanding of common project management practices and service-oriented environments.

Looking for local candidates at this time as testing will likely be developed in Irving. Some travel will most likely be required for this role, so candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 20%.
