Position: Merchandising Category Analyst
Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island 02895
Term: 12 Months Contract
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and provide the analytical detail of category and product performance.
  • Use internal data to track, analyze and communicate category/brand dynamics and sales trends.
  • Review margin, inventory turns and service levels.
  • Build queries and supervise the preparation.
  • Interpret and provide the analytical detail of category and product performance.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend changes to drive improvements in sales forecast accuracy, in-stock, inventory levels and product flow.
  • Responsible for supporting a variety of initiatives to help us acquire new customers and increase engagement with and retention of current customers.
  • Play a key role in ensuring Marketing strategies are executed according to plan, on time and on budget.
  • Lead the collaborative development of marketing projects with other internal and external resources to deliver work that is on-time, on-budget, and on-strategy.
  • Support the development of and manage the execution of marketing strategies and tactics across paid, earned, and owned channels. Tactics include email, direct mail, in-store, online, social, and more.
  • Manage and develop strong, collaborative relationships with business partners across the organization to ensure marketing initiatives meet launch and in-store deadlines.
  • With direction from a Marketing Manager, leverage analytics to measure campaign success, and support optimization to deliver desired results.
  • Act as an independent, self-starter, and anticipate requests to properly execute projects and initiatives.
  • Able to negotiate compromises, have difficult conversations, and manage up/across/down within and across teams in a positive and collaborative spirit.
  • With direction from a Marketing Manager, ensure all marketing materials are on-strategy and meet marketing, brand, and legal guidelines.
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience interpreting and recommending promotional strategies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or its equivalent.
  • Advanced level Access proficiency (able to create/run database queries, summarize and utilize data).
  • Must have excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills and able to develop his/her own oral and visual presentations, spread sheets and general correspondence.
  • Must have effective communication skills. Detailed oriented and organized.
  • Proven experience using and analyzing data to make decisions and recommendations that will maximize profitability.
