Position: Merchandising Analyst
Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island 02895
Hourly Rate: $31.25/hr.
Term: 5 Months Contract

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Contribute directly to sales and margin goals in assigned area
  • Analyze profit and loss information for the business, develop sales and margin projections, and track performance vs. plan
  • Analyze relevant data and incorporate findings and recommendations into short and long-term planning (i.e., optimal SKU mix; Extracare loyalty program; promotional programs) for merchandising programs over the next 1 to 3 years
  • Drive tactical execution of day-to- day plan activities (e.g., new item and supplier set-up, tracks planogram performance and provides post analysis to take corrective action if necessary)
  • Collaborate with an internal team of CVS professionals in Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Design/Layout and Store Operations
  • Analyze sales, margin and execution of programs and communicates those results to cross-functional teams to drive improved performance
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current competitive landscape; search out new competitive opportunities and make recommendations
  • Facilitate expansion of store format through maintaining and tracking to a project plan, identifying and managing risks and opportunities

Is it a good fit? (Requirements):
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a retail organization or in an analytical, merchandising, or buying position
  • Strong working knowledge of retail math concepts and demonstrated application
  • Proven ability to implement strategies and use negotiation tactics to grow sales
  • Technical experience and demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; some Access or other database knowledge helpful
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
