Position:  Learning and Development Portfolio Manager
Location: Remote
Term: 7 Months Contract


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintain a detailed portfolio overview - maintain accuracy regularly
  • Provide to Consultants and other interested parties
  • Maintain a strategic portfolio framework
  • Report on the health and hygiene of the portfolio (includes DD Scorecard)
  • Manage the lifecycle of all programs and content in your portfolio (Lifecycle Management)
  • Manage the prioritization process for new content requests and existing content updates (Demand Management)
  • Accountable for ensuring that project teams are developing content in alignment with the project charter (Project Management)

Demand Management: Intake, Scoping, and Prioritization
  • Lead the prioritization process for new requests, existing content updates, and outstanding requests quarterly
  • Partner with the Consultant (or relevant enablement group) to assess the need for incoming projects, advise if project is aligned with purpose and intended outcomes of the strategic portfolio
  • Develop the Project Charter in partnership with the Consultant or Enablement group (and Learning Strategist, if applicable)
  • Bring the project to Resourcing, representing the need and advocating for resources

Project Management: Project Initiation, Execution, and Release
  • Prior to project kick-off, meet with the Project Manager and the Learning Strategist to ensure that the business objectives and desired behaviors are clear
  • During project implementation, (maybe every 2 weeks for a half hour) meet with the Project Manager and Learning Strategist to check on project progression and ensure that the work remains aligned with business objectives, verify that the delivery plan is viable and feasible
  • Two to three weeks prior to implementation, partner with the Project Manager to ensure that all implementation elements have been considered and remove any barriers to implementation, if needed
  • Go-live + 3 months (warranty period) - track content health and adoption, reporting on survey data, raise awareness of scheduling issues if needed, and remove any barriers to successful implementation, partner with the Project Manager to ensure content edits are made if needed
  • Move into maintenance mode and report on program/content health and hygiene

Lifecycle Management: Monitor, Maintain, Retire
  • Ensure that programs and content that are not meeting health criteria are updated as needed
  • Meet with the Consultant and if relevant, bring programs/content that are not meeting health criteria to the Resourcing meeting and advocate for resources to update as a priority
  • Retire content that no longer meets performance outcomes or that no longer contribute to business outcomes of the portfolio
  • Partner with relevant company, PT, and business partners/enablement groups in making decisions

Business Outcome Management: Performance, Value, Alignment
  • Measure and report on the health of the portfolio, including individual programs and content
  • Measure and report on the hygiene of the portfolio, including individual programs and content
  • Routinely run reports and socialize outcomes on the health and hygiene of your portfolio
  • Conduct a quarterly portfolio review with Company's Managers
  • Develop and maintain a Portfolio Health & Hygiene Dashboard
 

Strategic Portfolio Framework: Maintain a strategic portfolio framework & a detailed portfolio overview
  • Work with the Consultants and Learning Strategists to develop a visually appealing strategic portfolio framework that provides the following information: target audiences, business outcomes, organized grouping of content (how learning occurs), portfolio gaps, and others?
  • Routinely update the framework as needed to align with the company, PT and Company's strategic imperatives, business objectives and goal
  • Socialize the framework with the Consultants, PT, and Enablement groups to verify alignment and guide identification of program and content development needs

Vendor Management
  • Manager vendor relationships as the primary POC
  • In partnership with Consultants and Learning Strategists, identify vendors and vendor content that supports the business objectives of the portfolio
