MATRIX has partnered with a premier client in filling an urgent - LONG TERM CONTRACT position that is located around the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) metro area. This is a great opportunity to expand your career and work with a well-known government agency.

Are you a Junior Technical Data Engineer / Analyst who LOVES working with manipulating data within Excel utilizing Macros, Power Queries, Pivots, Charts, etc?  Does your data analysis extend to setting up and maintaining Dashboards using Tableau and coding using Python?  Do you have an in depth understanding of budgeting?  Do you enjoy working in a team environment?   • Technical / Hands on (2-3+ years)
  • Supporting tool and skill set
  • Advanced Excel (Macros, Power Queries, Pivots, charts)
  • SQL Server – moderate skills
  • Python – write basic ETL, smaller jobs to move data from A -> B
  • Tableau or PowerBI  – developing basic dashboards
  • Work with Stakeholders and end users to understand KPI’s
  • Translate functional needs to technical delivery
  • Designing Workflow experiences
  • Good documentation skills
  • Technical Skills Required:

  • Job Duties
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau dashboard) to meet the needs and requirements of the client. – Developing, analysis, dashboarding
  • Ability to comfortably interface with mid and senior level management
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a strong confidence working with and interfacing with multiple stakeholder groups
  • A team player that can balance the needs of their customer with the needs of the overall program. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience engaging in business process analysis, understanding the customers business process requirements, and capable of translating those business requirements into business and technical documentation and specifications, as well as screen layouts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with technology, including web-based systems and software development and customer relations tools used to document and manage customer interactions and requirements.
  • Extremely comfortable in a fast-paced environment that requires excellent time-management, ability to multi-task, and prioritize effectively
  • Extract data from data sources and analyze using standard data analysis tools.
  • Apply modern data quality techniques to ensure reliable data.
  • Develop and deliver reports (ex. Excel, PowerPoint) to client in response to their requests and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Document Tracking Report for ease of tracking and retrieval
  • Prepare actual versus forecast Budget Report with explanations of period variances for the entire data sets per program or project
  • Assist with budget reviews to include participation in discussions with administrative and program staff to obtain and clarify information
  • Gather budget information and perform analysis, Verify the accuracy of data; identify errors and perform corrections
  • Prepare summary analyses and spending projections for current and future year budgets
  • Support Federal Manager through the analysis of process data to improve IT processes.
  • Develop process models using standard process analysis methodologies for current state analysis and the development of future state conceptual models.
  • Define best practice process KPIs and monitor over time.
  • Must be able to pass government public trust clearance
