Position:  Java Middleware Engineer
Location: Remote
Term: 5 Months Contract


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
 

  • Analyze and clarify business requirements and functional specifications
  • Collaborate with enterprise and solutions architects to design and document data integration routes
  • Develop and test services enabling complex integration use cases
  • Serve as integration developer for the project implementation team, ensuring work meets enterprise standards and fulfills business requirements
  • Automate unit and integration testing, document results for review by other stakeholders
  • Support project integration and end-to-end test cycles
  • Manage project deliverables and assignments within the project team
  • Document and transfer knowledge, develop capabilities of production support team
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 production support


Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
 

  • 6+ years enterprise Java and spring boot experience
  • Experience with SOA type service integration like REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Experience with Linux system programming and light system administration
  • Demonstrated success in learning new technologies
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting complex problems
  • Experience with source code control platforms, preferably Git


The following are considered a plus:
 

  • Prior experience with asynchronous messaging technologies, such as Red Hat AMQ, Apache ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ or similar
  • Prior experience with Apache Camel, Red Hat Fuse, or similar integration frameworks
  • Experience with containers and container management technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Familiarity with modern methodologies like DevOps and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), and associated capabilities like automation, orchestration, and configuration management
  • Prior experience with other programming languages, like Python, Ruby, Go, or similar
  • Prior experience working on agile development teams like Scrum or Kanban
