Large Oil and Gas company is seeking an IT Collaboration Technology Engineer for a 12 months+ contract role, based in Houston, TX.  Must be a local candidate that will work onsite at a large corporate HQ facility.  The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (slightly flexible) and must work onsite Monday-Thursday, with remote on Friday. 

As the IT Collaboration Technology Engineer, you will work with a Project Team to manage delivery of the Project and provide frontline Collaboration Technology services to the project team. In this role, you will partner with IT Architecture, End User Computing, O365 Support and other IT teams to configure Collaboration systems, backend management systems and ensure delivery of the AV systems for a large infrastructure project as the company moves to a new building.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to project team developing Collaboration environment (MS Teams with Direct Routing, Mersive Solstice, Aurora Encoders, etc.)
  • Assist with Migration to Teams Only Operating mode for remainder of users (approximately 2/3 complete).
  • Assist with Migration from Cisco Desk phones to MS Teams Direct Routing Softphones.
  • Assist with backend configuration of management systems for UC Certified headsets
  • Assist with delivery of UC certified headsets.
  • Design layouts of audio and video equipment and work with AV Integrator to deliver.
  • Establish maintenance program of audio and video equipment.
  • Establish and Maintain inventories of audio and video and related equipment.
  • Work with AV Integrators to ensure quality of installations and troubleshoot any issues related to AV systems.
  • Partner with AV Integrator and internal stakeholders to configure and deploy Content Management System
REQUIRED SKILLS (specific to MS Teams)
  • Hands-On experience supporting M365/O365 Platforms: MS Teams Collaboration, Skype for Business, Messaging, Exchange on line and on-prem
  • Technical knowledge on various Teams architecture elements deployed in an Enterprise environment
  • Requirements gathering for design, development and deployment of Microsoft Teams and enterprise voice
  • Teams Direct Routing
  • Experience in supporting a global environment with more than 4,000 users
  • Understanding of Teams policies and how to apply to organizational business requirements
  • Experience Troubleshooting Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams related issues
  • Provide migration support, ensuring the smooth planning, implementation, and cutovers of collaboration technology infrastructure and end user devices
  • Knowledge for M365/O365 Services, Governance Policy, User role, security and best practices
  • Run point on customer communications for MS Teams installations and migrations
  • Owning the resolution of issues that arise during the onboarding and migration phases
  • Maintaining a strong working & technical knowledge of M365/O365 services, taking ownership for driving service improvements
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements within existing technologies
  • Be able to educate others within the organizations in the areas of your expertise
  • Teams Room systems setup and management – Crestron UC Engine
  • Crestron Panel setup and management
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Education Required: College degree preferred but not required
  • AV Installation experience or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application suite
  • Experience designing and configuring AV systems
  • Experience configuring and setting up Crestron Scheduling Panel
  • Experience configuring and deploying presentation systems (Barco Clickshare/Mersive Solstice)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, client relationship skills, detail-oriented
  • Demonstrable experience with technology migrations at Enterprise level
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory/Group Policy
  • Microsoft Teams calling systems
