Long term contract Opportunity!

Position:  Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Des Moines, IA 50392
Term: 6 Months Contract

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Independently conduct analysis and development, requirements, coding, automated testing, debugging, designing, documentation, quality assurance review, implementation and maintenance
  • Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and trade-offs in the area
  • Demonstrate independence working in more than one system
  • Participate in technical design of features
  • Focus on attaining expertise in more technical areas
  • Work within a Swarm team to diagnose and resolve operational support escalations and requests, to eliminate escalations beyond Service Desk support
  • This would include, root cause investigation and resolution, documentation of repeatable processes and knowledge sharing, and evaluation of automation opportunity along with automation implementation
  • Must be technically minded with good analytical and troubleshooting experience to assist with operational escalated problem resolution
  • Some travel may be required, including overnight stays
  • May be required to provide on-call support

Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • 4 to 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field)
  • Proven experience as an IT professional
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills required
  • Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Must have the desire and ability to learn new technology and continuously grow
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners
  • Previous knowledge and solid understanding of Microsoft Exchange\Email space, email perimeter as well as with Citrix Virtual Desktop and virtual applications is required
  • Ability to create procedural and informational documentation for Service Desk support staff for trouble shooting and request resolution

Preferred Skills:

  • Citrix VDI
  • Microsoft Email – O365
  • Powershell
  • Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred
  • Basic leadership skills preferred
  • Excellent time management skills preferred

Nice to Have:

  • Endpoint Management (MS Intune, SCCM/MEM)
  • Email perimeter products (Proofpoint)
  • Security products – McAfee, Symantec
