Position:  Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Des Moines, IA 50392
Term: 4 Months Contract


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
 

  • Independently conduct analysis and development, requirements, coding, automated testing, debugging, designing, documentation, quality assurance review, implementation and maintenance
  • Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and trade-offs in the area
  • Demonstrate independence working in more than one system
  • Participate in technical design of features
  • Focus on attaining expertise in more technical areas
  • Design, build and support Cisco wireless infrastructure that utilize the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller platform
  • May be required to provide on-call support
  • Some travel may be required, including overnight stays


Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
 

  • 6+ years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field)
  • 5+ years of experience with LAN solutions for large enterprises (including Cisco Nexus) analyzing, troubleshooting, and investigating Network and Data Center related systems
  • Experience automating network deployments and configurations using Ansible (or similar language) or automation orchestrator
  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco ACI
  • Ability to manage multiple efforts by establishing timelines and executing tasks in accordance with timelines
  • 5+ years of experience with IP routing protocols including Layer 2 (including Multi-VLAN architectures) and Layer 3 routing (OSPF, BGP, RIP, EIGRP, HSRP, QoS) in a large enterprise environment
  • Strong experience with enterprise security and network-based segmentation solutions such as: firewalls, private VLANs, Cisco ISE, etc.
  • Ability to configure and support one or more of the major Application Delivery Controller appliances (Citrix NetScaler, F5 BigIP, etc)
  • Experience with virtual datacenter (VMware) and virtual switching environments
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and decision-making skills
  • Drive to train and improve technical skills of peers
  • Proven experience as an IT professional
  • Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required
  • Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Must have the desire and ability to learn new technology and continuously grow
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners
