This nationwide mortgage industry leader has an immediate 3-6+ month contract opportunity (with the potential to go up to 12 months) in Coppell, TX for an Information Security Technical Writer.  Must be local to DFW and will work remote until the offices open. 


• Prepare, write and review standard operating procedures (SOPs), security policies and security standards
• Interview Information Security team members to gather content for creation of documentation
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
• Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style and content
• Research, analyze, write and edit materials for Information Security related processes, plans, procedures, work instructions, knowledge articles, reports etc.
• Revise text and recommend changes in scope, format and content to ensure conformance with established standards
• Edit and standardize material prepared by other staff members
• Perform quality assurance on all materials
• Proactively inform management about project status, issues or concerns
• Actively identity and make recommendations for improvement in the documentation and review process
• Publication of security policies, standards following corporate publication process
• Optimization of security standards via reduction of duplicate controls.


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in communications, journalism, technical writing, information security or related field preferred
• 6 year’s experience in writing and editing documents
• Personal computer and business solutions software skills
• Bachelor’s degree in English, literature or other related discipline
• At least 2 years supporting Information Security
• Effective communicator, relationship builder, writer and editor
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with personnel
• Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms
• Proofreading and editing skills
• Ability to ascertain information about current organizational processes and how to go about organizing and capturing practices and procedures.
