Backend Java Developer

Grow your career as a Back-end or Full-stack Java Developer with an innovative global bank in Irving, TX. Long-term contract with excellent growth potential. Will start working remotely until offices reopen, then will be required to be onsite 2-3 days per week. Will be responsible for hands on design, development and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination within the Technology team.
  • Employ standards, frameworks and patterns while designing and developing components.
  • Implement and maintain a suite of Workflow driven, Java application with microservices.
  • Develop high quality code employing software engineering and testing best practices. Debug and fix production issues.
  • Developing software that processes, persists and distributes data via relational and non-relational technologies.
  • Hands on coding, authoring unit tests/Junit, performance tests and maintaining high code quality.
  • Able to react and provide quick turnaround to business requirements and management requests.
  • Well versed in Agile Development Life Cycle.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, good communication skills, has experience in working on complex and medium to large projects.
  • Work as a global team member, analyze and collaborate technical solutions and strategies with the team and provide the optimum solution for our clients.
  • Mentor team members.
  • Strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals.
  • Contribute in high- and low-level system design (Sequence Diagram, Class Diagrams).
  • Communicate effectively with business and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and effort estimates.
  • Provide user and operational support on applications to business users
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement.
  • Serve as Advisor or Coach to new or junior level analysts.
  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise web application development using Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Must have Java application design experience.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience in Java (Version 1.8 or above)/J2EE/Spring Boot/Microservices/REST/JSON/Hibernate.
  • Experience in Spring, Spring Batch, Spring IOC, Spring AOP, Spring Annotation, Spring Security.
  • Experience in mocking, Junit and performance testing of solutions.
  • Experience Angular UI or React or similar UI.
  • Experience in Oracle (PL/SQL), and knowledge in NoSQL like NoSQL-Mongo, Cassandra.
  • Experience with CI/CD build pipelines and toolchain – Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jira/Confluence/Collaborate.
  • Strong design skills on Java/J2EE based solutions with Oracle backend.
  • Basic Unix/Linux knowledge to be able to write and understand basic shell scripts and basic Unix commands.
  • Working knowledge on Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Working knowledge on Caching technologies Redis and Ignite is a plus.
  • Experience in ETL tools like Talend, Data Bridge is a plus.
  • Knowledge in Big Data Technologies like Apache Spark, Hive, Hadoop is a plus.
  • Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
  • Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
