Position: Fluidics Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA, 30313
Term: 17 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in concepts, practices, and theories used in the design of fluidic circuits, including pumping technologies, nozzles, and flow through tubes and valves.
  • Will have demonstrated the ability to use it in practice and within the engineering lifecycle.
  • Has general knowledge of other engineering disciplines (ie: software lifecycle, structures).
  • Works independently with minimal day-to-day supervision Thermodynamics: Proficiency in concepts, practices, and theories used in the design of heat exchangers and thermal management systems.
  • Will have demonstrated the ability to use it in practice and within the engineering lifecycle.
  • Control Systems: Proficiency in development of control systems in theory and practice.
  • CADD, Documentation Change Management (Windchill experience preferred).
  • Experience controlling designs using ECN in a formal change management system.
  • Design for Quality: Proficiency in applying DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) tools (DFMEA, Design Verification Planning, etc) to optimize quality and reliability of the product.
  • Proficiency in design for manufacturability, including test automation.
  • Support for PFMEA and process design demonstrated.
  • Systems Engineering: Proficiency is translating top level stakeholder needs through to project requirements, and down (using appropriate engineering disciplines and due-diligence) to product and process specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with stakeholders where various needs conflict in order to reach an acceptable solution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing specifications, including drawings, for designs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proficiency in designing business processes for continuous improvement.
  • Determines methods to measure and goal process effectiveness and efficiency and determine actions to continuously improve processes.
  • Understands and takes accountability for process ownership, data stewardship and/or policy enforcement and the necessary succession planning when moving on to a new role.

Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • BSME or BSAeroE from ABET-accredited engineering program. Hands-on experience with electronically controlled mechanical systems required
  • Proven track record of delivering quality products and a wide variety of contributions
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, or other programming languages
  • Experience in Computer-Aided Design
  • High level of oral and written communication skills High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others Leadership Behaviors
  • MSME or MS Aero strongly preferred.
