Position: Fluidics Engineer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia 30313
Term: 12 Months Contract
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Proficiency in concepts, practices, and theories used in the design of fluidic circuits, including pumping technologies, nozzles, and flow through tubes and valves.
  • Will have demonstrated the ability to use it in practice and within the engineering lifecycle.
  • Has general knowledge of other engineering disciplines (ie: software lifecycle, structures).
  • Works independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
 
  • Thermodynamics:
  • Proficiency in concepts, practices, and theories used in the design of heat exchangers and thermal management systems.
  • Will have demonstrated the ability to use it in practice and within the engineering lifecycle.
 
Control Systems:
  • Proficiency in development of control systems in theory and practice.
  • CADD, Documentation Change Management (Windchill experience preferred).
  • Experience controlling designs using ECN in a formal change management system.
 
Design for Quality:
  • Proficiency in applying DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) tools (DFMEA, Design Verification Planning, etc) to optimize quality and reliability of the product.
  • Proficiency in design for manufacturability, including test automation. Support for PFMEA and process design demonstrated.
 
Systems Engineering:
  • Proficiency is translating top level stakeholder needs through to project requirements, and down (using appropriate engineering disciplines and due-diligence) to product and process specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with stakeholders where various needs conflict in order to reach an acceptable solution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing specifications, including drawings, for designs.
 
Continuous Improvement:
  • Proficiency in designing business processes for continuous improvement.
  • Determines methods to measure and goal process effectiveness and efficiency and determine actions to continuously improve processes.
  • Understands and takes accountability for process ownership, data stewardship and/or policy enforcement and the necessary succession planning when moving on to a new role.
 
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • BSME or BSAeroE from ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Hands-on experience with electronically controlled mechanical systems required.
  • Proven track record of delivering quality products and a wide variety of contributions.
  • MSME or MS Aero strongly preferred.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, or other programming languages
  • Experience in Computer-Aided Design
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
