Title: Director, Employee Time and Attendance Management
Term: 6 Months Contract to Perm
Location: Sandy Springs, GA (as needed for meetings)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Atlanta-based client is seeking a Director of Employee Time and Attendance Management for contract to perm position in Sandy Springs.  You will provide central leadership, coordination, and direction for the planning, implementation, and assessment of employee time and absence management. Also, ensure employees and managers know their responsibilities related to timekeeping, provides training where needed, and assists school-based Time Managers to identify and resolve errors related to employee work-time and absences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compile and analyze time and attendance data and maintain related reports
  • Perform end of pay period reviews to ensure all entered time is approved and submitted by Time Managers (TM) prior to payroll cutoffs
  • Identify potential errors through missed punch reports and proactively works with TM/employee on corrections
  • Identify any calculation issues within the configuration/logic for the timekeeping system (i.e., straight time and overtime, leave accrual, etc.) and analyze pay rule design for process improvement opportunities.
  • Respond to school-based Time Managers inquiries related to time keeping
  • Assist school-based Time Managers to ensure employees are accurately capturing time for PTO, Holiday periods and other less frequent events.
  • Update basic system configuration, such as adding new departments or jobs to the business structure, creating new pay-codes, maintaining basic schedules, and assigning security roles
  • Receive communications from support regarding major system release upgrades and maintenance windows
  • Interpret and explain time and labor policies and the various related personnel rules
  • Generate and distribute compliance reports on timecard approvals and retro pay changes due to timekeeping errors
  • Adjust work schedules to meet District emergency situations
  • Ensure compliance of internal controls, and governing federal and state laws
  • Participate in or oversees the development of training programs specifically related to time and attendance to maintain adherence to time keeping practices
  • Maintain job aids and knowledge base articles related to time keeping system
  • Review and revise the District policies and guidelines related to employee time and attendance
  • Respond to employee/supervisor inquires and concerns regarding time and attendance in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required; Master’s Degree preferred   
Certification/Licensure: SHRM certification, preferred
Experience:  Minimum of 4 years payroll, HR management, and/or employee time management experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with UKG-Dimensions (Kronos)
  • Experience with Employee Central and SAP S/4 payroll, preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to consistently and efficiently meet established deadlines and timely respond to problems with employees and co-workers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to make public presentations
  • Ability to supervise and work effectively with departmental personnel
  • Good decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Must have transportation and be able to travel across a wide geographically diverse District
