Position: Delivery Manager

Location: Des Moines, IA 50392 or Remote

Term: 12 Months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Define, orchestrate and manage the holistic product life-cycle, delivery cadence, release plan and sprint schedule.
  • Facilitate the identification, scheduling and assignment of project activities, tasks and milestones.
  • Help teams identify and improve parts of the team's delivery system to produce results.
  • Work across teams to help improve and optimize workflow and value creation.
  • Use expertise to help define "what good looks like" and generate action to shape those behaviors.
  • Utilize Lean and DevOps principles and practices to create stable, safe, and high performing delivery systems.
  • Influence, identify and suggest solutions to continuously improve the practices and methods used to develop software.
  • Help coaching the team with agile best practices.
  • Ensuring the team is working on the right priority workload and removing impediments to ensure their delivery on their committed features.

Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field).
  • 6+ years of work experience or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing software/application development projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints.
  • Ability to interface with executives and stakeholders regarding issues of project scope and status.
  • Advanced planning/organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required.
  • Basic leadership and presentations skills required.
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Some travel required, including overnight stays.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both IT and non-IT partners.

Even better if you have:

  • 6+ years of Agile team experience in any well-known software environment.
  • Knowledge of insurance and financial services products.
