Position: Retirement Benefits Analyst
Location: Des Moines, IA 50392
Term: 6 months
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Independently analyze and process complex process retirement calculations and transactions within established timing and quality standards.
  • Serve as a resource for calculation and transaction interpretation.
  • Assist in the management and review of participant data and retirement information.
  • Provide informal oversight and may perform quality review of transactions and calculations.
  • Comply with a Code of Ethics which covers a number of obligations related to personal and business conduct as well as personal trading activities for you and members of your household. These same requirements may also apply to other positions across the organization.
 
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or equivalent experience in defined benefit calculations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Proven and strong abilities in the areas of problem solving, planning, time management, decision making, consulting, negotiation, mentoring and project management.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, exercise flexibility when dealing with people and effectively communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Basic PC and/or system skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong client service orientation, the ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven, team-based environment, the ability to make effective, high impact decisions, the ability to oversee projects, the ability to produce accurate and timely information independently and the ability to drive results.
  • Able to handle multiple, complex tasks, prioritize effectively and be flexible as business needs change.
  • Able to attend to day-to-day details while maintaining a strategic, analytical focus on the big picture.
  • Assertive, diplomatic, and positive.
 
Even better if you have:
  • Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
