Position: Commercial Title Examiner
Location: Chicago, IL 60602
Term: 6 months
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and analyzes deeds, mortgages, easements, judgments, taxes and other applicable instruments.
  • Resolves issues such as missing, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation.
  • Verifies ownership and legal descriptions of real property and checks for documents that may restrict use.
  • Reviews data and submits accurate reports.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Demonstrates clear and thorough approach to documentation, organization of thought, projects and processes.
  • Coaches and mentors more junior staff.
  • Works under minimal supervision with latitude for independent judgement.
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of real estate data with an emphasis on public records.
  • Advanced Professional Role. Highly skilled with extensive proficiency.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of searching and examining public record information and experienced in analysis and remediation of data issues.
  • Knowledge of legal descriptions and county specific property types.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Advanced computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize successfully to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to skillfully self-manage projects and work independently.
  • Title searching or examining.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
