Business Data Analyst

Grow your career as a Business Data Analyst with an innovative global bank in Irving, TX. Long-term contract with excellent growth potential. Will start working remotely until offices reopen, then will be required to be onsite 2-3 days per week. Will gather and interpret business requirements, create functional specifications and designs and perform validation and document results as needed for economic forecasting and other models.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Gather business requirements and translate into functional specs for programmers.
  • Might require deep dive and analysis into current applications to propose designs for the project.
  • Work with technical teams to come up with estimates for the effort to complete.
  • Research appropriate data fields in banking/credit systems, learn about various business processes, document business and regulatory rules.
  • Develop test scenarios and perform internal validation prior to turning over to separate QC team.
  • Document model approach, assumptions, results and automating/validation report creation.
  • Document sourcing information.
 
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree specific to quantitative fields –Econometrics/Economics/other quantitative fields.
  • Knowledge of banking systems is very important and work experience with banking industry a plus.
  • Act as a liaison between Business and Technical groups.
  • Extensive experience in data mapping exercise which could be straight through or derived and to perform validation of what was mapped is accurate to source.
  • Experience in developing Time Series Models/Value at Risk Models/other econometric models and defending analysis results with business and regulatory stakeholders and has worked as a programmer in the past.
  • Technical background and working knowledge of UNIX, Java, SQL/SAS, SVN, Python, R, MATLAB, Autosys is a plus but is not required.
  • Prior experience working with Model Risk Management SR -11 requirements or ability to quickly ramp up is a plus.
  • Experience with Hadoop and Big Data Analytics tools (such as Hue, Hive, Anaconda Enterprise Notebook, Jupyter Notebook) is a plus.
