Position: Break/Fix Technician
Location: Roanoke, Virginia 24012
Term: 3 Months Contract-to-hire (09/07/2020 to 12/31/2020)
 
Schedule: 6 AM and 10 PM with a normal day for 9 AM to 6 PM. There is after hours work that can be schedule and there on-call after hours’ work required. The schedule would be flexible as the cases are assigned.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Must maintain good customer focus meeting deadlines and service level agreements (SLA’s).
  • Technician will travel to each client’s location. This may include up to 3 hours one way but the majority or the work is within 1 hour of Roanoke, VA.
  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs Desktop, Laptop, Server and Printer.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Tech must be able to adapt to unknowns with equipment, cases and customers and be able to work through troubleshoot steps with remote support.
 
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • 5+ years supporting Desktops, Laptops and Printers.
  • 5+ years with customer service experience.
  • Reliable Transportation. Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work weekends, staggered or late shifts possibly including evenings and/or weekends.
  • Personable as they will be interacting with a wide range of users and environments.
  • Can work on a ladder of lift and are able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be available for on-call overnight, weekends and holidays.
  • Smartphone with tethering/hot spot capabilities.
  • Laptop - Tech will be using their personal laptop for the first 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Basic Hand Tools.
 
Even better if you have:
  • CompTIA A+.
  • OEM Printer Warranty Certifications.
  • OEM Laptop/Desktop Warranty Certifications.
  • Server experience would be a bonus.
  • Field Tech work experience is preferred.
