Azure Cloud Architect - REMOTE

This international industry leader has an immediate 10+ month contract opportunity (with strong chance for extension/conversion)  for an Azure Cloud Architect. Can work 100% remotely from anywhere in the United States with East Coast preferred.  This position requires:
  • 2-3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure (Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as Service (SaaS) across Microsoft Azure cloud and the Microsoft technology stack in general Containers / AKS Linux (RHEL)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT Security, software development, and infrastructure deployment methodologies and industry best practices
  • Experience with scalable architectures using Azure App Service, API management, serverless technologies
  • Experience with Big Data solutions on Azure and delivering data pipelines (e.g. Azure Data Lake Service, Power BI, Azure Data Bricks, Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory)
  • Strong verbal/written communication, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority
  • College degree or equivalent experience required (7+ years)
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with various projects, internal (e.g., Cloudneeti, WVD, Monitoring, etc.) and external/custom solution (e.g., KME, Ignite, R Studio Platform, etc.)
  • Interface directly with the business stakeholders, solution teams, and DSG to translate requirements into architecture patterns that are ultimately handed off to a build team
  • Create architecture diagrams
  • Document and manage scope of designs (manage at least one build team to ensure consistent execution and engineering scope creep)
  • Research emerging technologies
  • Create proof of concepts for the benefit of proving out design recommendation
  • Convert architecture diagrams into user stories Monitor adherence to standards (CloudOps and external if applicable)
