Position: Agile Dev Team Member IV
Location: Caledonia, MI, 49316
Hourly Rate: $ 59.38/hr.
Term: 6 months
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
IMPORTANT TO KNOW:

* Local candidates who can work at designated Farmers location highly preferred. (Currently, working remote is allowed due to office closures resulting from COVID-19.)
* Non-local candidates willing to relocate at own expense to work at designated Farmers location once office reopens required.
* Resource will be paid as a W-2 employee by the staffing supplier.
* Staffing suppliers - please do not contact the hiring manager directly. Only suppliers in scope of the Farmers CWM program can submit candidates for this position.
* Supplier will provide equipment/laptop to the resource for this engagement.

***These individuals should be onshore and ideally close to Grand Rapids Or willing to relocate depending on how the office opening for Farmers goes. ***

Senior Level Mainframe Developer
* Experience in the Casualty/Property Insurance industry with policy processing and back office systems;
* Experience in writing high level detailed solution and design specifications to assist programmers in developing new programs.
* Experience in both mainframe and distributed applications.
* Must be detailed oriented and an analytical thinker.
* Must be proficient in communicating with technical development teams as well as executive level.
* Must be a self-starter and quality driven.
* Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
* Technical knowledge: Cobol, DB2, SQL, XML, , Web Services, API, ETL processes, Easytrieve, JCL
* Preferred knowledge: Data Studio, SOAP, WSDL, Java,
* Responsibilities: Work in an Agile Environment to design, development
o Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
o Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
o Integrate data storage solutions {{may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.}}
o Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
o Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
o Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
