Long term contract opportunity in New York City, NY for an Agency Lending Operations Manager who is an experienced subject matter expert in the agency lending business. Will be responsible for a wide range of activities: work stream ownership, project management, reporting, interpretation of requirements, partner with technology and the business to ensure we achieve our Target Operating Model. Will need to foster relationship across Securities Services and the wider business lines.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with the business and clients. Act as a Trusted Advisor on operational matters.
  • Monitor emerging operational best practices in the industry, determine what is required to create competitive advantage in support agency lending business.
  • Lead benchmarking and process improvement initiatives to improve controls and make processes more efficient and transparent.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and straight-through-processing, working in partnership with technology.
  • Contribution and preparation of high-quality materials for business reviews, project meetings and product aligned steering committees, including proactive follow-up of actions to closure.
  • Analysis of progress against strategic objectives and drive corrective actions where required.
  • Execution of the ASL Target Operating Model.
  • Engagement of key stakeholders across Operations, Technology, HR and Product.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 15+ years of financial accounting experience.
  • 10 years of agency lending business knowledge.
  • 10 years of operations experience.
  • Extensive experience in a supervisory/managerial position, of which a significant recent portion should have been spent in Agency Lending/ Securities Lending where a proven track record of leadership & delivery of has been gained.
  • Experience of interacting at senior levels and ensuring credibility is maintained through solid delivery against commitments.
  • Experience of working in a process-driven environment.
  • Experience of a financial services environment.
  • Experience of working in a controls-focused environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Risk Awareness: Demonstrate sound judgement and professionalism in decision making/problem solving, escalating to seniors as appropriate.
