Accounting Clerk

Position: Accounting Clerk
Location: Stockton, CA 95206
Term: 6 months
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Performs basic accounting functions which require knowledge of accounts payable and receivable and of reconciliation functions. (this will be transactional action specific payables – On the job training for industry knowledge)
  • Answers customer inquiries.
  • Research problems and or complaints.
  • Creates and edits spreadsheets.
  • Under direct supervision, performs entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
  • Posts journal or voucher entries, reconciles accounts, and checks for accuracy. Verifies, sorts, posts, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers.
 
Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience. Advanced level education preferred.
  • Understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of basic functions with spreadsheet software such as Lotus or Excel.
  • Good analytical skills. Proficient in mathematics.
  • Ability to follow procedures and keep records.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Good computer (data entry) skills.
  • Ability to work in fast paced "team" environment.
  • Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Ten Key by Touch with accuracy.
  • Previous clerical accounting with ability to retain and build on prior day training.
  • Possess professional demeanor.
