Position: Ab Initio ETL Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC - Dallas, TX - Minneapolis, MN
Term: 12 months

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Functions as Ab Initio ETL Test Cycle Analyst
  • Participate in deployment, Execution and loading of Test data in solving business goals.
  • Work closely with operations, compliance, infrastructure and business partners to analyze and resolve all issues and inquiries
  • Perform analysis related to defining amount of effort required to meet documented business, technical and data requirements
  • Clearly document issues and steps taken to resolve issues in the support knowledge base.
  • Acts as the highest-level internal consultant within technology and business groups by optimizing existing processes for greater efficiencies with significant impact to the business.
  • Directs and serves as a mentor to less experienced staff.
  • Leads, designs, develops, test and implements applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies.
  • Resolves coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature.
  • Responsible for defining opportunities across IT to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost.
  • Ensures that systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk.
  • Mentors and trains other members of the team.
  • Partners with Management, Dev, QA, production support and platform engineering teams effectively.
  • Focuses on building relevant capabilities in the organization to keep pace with demand and best practices in the industry.
  • Manages vendor/contractor partnerships to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs using Agile development practices.
  • Operates in restricted to niche domains: such as Capital Markets, Quants, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning.
  • Leads implementation of complex projects/initiatives on above domain.
  • Understands and leads the team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
  • Mentors lower level team members.


Is this a good fit? (Requirements):

  • Ab initio with 5+ years, Unix shell scripting
  • 3+ Years, proficient with SQL coding
  • Good at analysis, requirements gathering, collaborating with stake holders and being a team player.
  • Contractor will need to functions as Ab Initio ETL Test Cycle Analyst
  • Participate in deployment, Execution and loading of Test data in solving business goals.

  • Knowledge of Hadoop Big Data, SPARK Scala, Cloud computing will be a plus.
  • Technical skill - Ablnitio required (4-6 years experience)
  • Technical skill - ETL required (4-6 years experience)
  • Technical skill - Oracle required (4-6 years experience)
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: securities, quantitative trading, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
  • Masters degree or higher in computer science or finance
  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Basic knowledge of industry regulations related to building technological solutions



Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ Years, Autosys or equivalent scheduler - preferred
  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years of financial industry experience
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • 5+ years of data warehouse experience
  • 3+ years of Ab Initio experience
  • 3+ years of UNIX experience
  • 3+ years of Autosys experience
  • 3+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle or Teradata
  • 1+ year of JIRA experience
  • 1+ year of PAC2000 experience
  • 3+ years of Agile experience
  • Risk and finance regulatory reporting experience
  • Experience with version control or source code repositories to include: Jenkins, udeploy
  • Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex technology and data related issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry regulations
